Indian Air Force has published notification for the recruitment Commissioned Officer vacancies for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying & Permanent Commission (PC)/ Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical) and Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches through Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) – 02/ 2017

Eligibility Criteria

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

Candidates should possess qualification as follows:

1. Flying Branch Graduation (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers & have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level.
2 Technical Branch Four year degree/ integrated Post Graduation qualification or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India
A.Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}
B. Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)}
3 Ground Duty Branch Graduation with 60% marks/ B. Com. Degree/ MBA/ MCA or MA/ M.Sc Degree in English/ Physics/ Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Statistics/ International relations/ International studies/ Defence studies/ Psychology/ Computer Science/ IT/ Management / Mass Communication/ Journalism/ Public Relation with minimum of 50% marks

SELECTION PROCESS

  1. The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions. All questions will be of three marks each. For every correct answer the candidate will get three marks and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted under negative marking. The total time allotted for the paper is two hours.
  2. Each Question Paper will have questions from the following topics

AGE LIMITS

Candidates age should be between 20-24 years i.e. born between 02-07-1994 to 01-07-1998 (both dates inclusive) for Flying Branch, 20-26 years.
i.e. Born between 02-07-1992 to 01-07-1998 (both dates inclusive) for Technical Branch & Ground Duty Branch.

Age relaxation is applicable upto 26 years of age for Flying Branch as per rules.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS

Candidates who are applying for AFCAT should have the physical standards as follows:
