Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) in an online mode.CTET is a national recruitment process to appoint the skilful teachers for Primary level & Upper Primary Level. Earlier the CTET was being conducted twice every year, but as per the latest notification, it will be conducted once every year from now onwards.According to the CTET examination authority department, candidates will be selected as per their performance in the CTET Online examination. To qualify in the online exam, candidates should be passed with the minimum qualifying marks of 60 % and above. Candidates can check CTET Selection Procedure 2018 details below.

  • Paper I : The paper I is for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Paper II : The Paper II is for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

CTET Eligibility Criteria

Applicant needs to fulfil the below-mentioned requirements in order to appear for CTET 2018. Please note that the eligibility criteria depends purely on the Class for which the candidate is applying for :

Primary Level
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Education. OR
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Upper Primary Level
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4 year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1 year B.Ed.
