Finally, Railway Recruitment Board (RRBs) has released Official Notification for RRB Group D Level 1 Recruitment 2019 on 12th March. Through this recruitment process, RRB will recruit 1,03,769 vacancies for the posts of Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant, Assistant Pointsman, Level-I posts.

Out of this fee of Rs 500 an amount of Rs 400 shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in 1st Stage CBT.

Description and Responsibilities

Hospital Attendant

Helping in maintenance of the hospital and taking care of patients

Assistant Pointsman/ Switchman

Assisting in handing of switches and railroad points. Also, to control the lever to direct the train to the required rail track.


Helping the passengers at the railway station and to handle the loading & unloading of railway passengers and goods


Shunters safely move trains between the yards and platforms – they marshal the trains, hook on locomotives and detach defective carriages. They also direct and move freight trains, organise rail freight and conduct safety checks.


Maintenance and smooth functioning of Gates at railway crossings to ensure no delays of trains occur because of road traffic

Helpers in Electrical / Engineering / Mechanical / Signal and Telecommunication departments/Civil etc.


Helpers may be deputed to assist the skilled workers such as Fitters, Mechanics, Welders, Machinist, Equipment Maintainers etc, in their technical works. Helpers may also be deputed to assist in non-technical works in the offices etc.

Track Maintainer Grade IV (Trackman)

To maintain railway Tracks and remove any unwanted materials like rocks etc. from tracks

Cabinman/ Leverman

Watch over the safe passage of trains arriving and leaving a station. Clearing signals for trains to pass.


Railway fitters and electricians carry out the practical work needed to keep railway machinery and equipment running smoothly and safely. They carry out repairs and routine maintenance.


Responsibility is to regularly check sections of tracks for faults with a view to prevent accidents.

When can I apply for RRC Level 1 Recruitment 2019?

You can apply from 12.03.2019 at 17.00 hrs to 12.04.2019 at 23.59 hrs.


What is the selection process of RRC Level 1 exam 2019?

•           Computer Based Test (CBT)

•           Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

•           Document Verification and Medical Examination.


What is the date for CBT Exam?

Is there normalization of marks?

Yes, marks will be normalized for all the stages of exam.


Is there any negative marking in CBT?

Yes, 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer.


How many candidates will be called for PET?

Candidates shall be called for PET Three times the community wise total vacancy of the Posts notified against RRBs/RRCs.


Can I choose any other exam language except english?

English is the default language. In case the candidate wishes to choose any other language, then the same can be selected from the drop down list of languages. The languages listed are Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.


What is the minimum educational qualifications to apply?

10th pass (OR) ITI from institutions recognised by NCVT/SCVT (or) equivalent (OR) National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT

NOTE: Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in lieu of course completed Act Apprenticeship / ITI. Also, Graduate Act Apprentice will not be accepted in lieu of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship.


Can I apply for different zones for different posts?

No, You can apply from any one zone only.


What is the age limit?

AGE LIMIT: 18 to 33 years.

The lower and upper age limit indicated for a particular post(s) in the vacancy table will be reckoned as on 01.07.2019.


What is the application fee and will I get a refund?

•           UR & OBC: Rs. 500/-
