SBI PO 2019 Notification out ! State Bank of India has officially released SBI PO recruitment notification 2019 for a total of 2000 vacancies of Probationary Officers (POs) post. SBI PO 2019 Prelims exam is scheduled on 8th, 9th, 15th & 16th June 2019. Eligible and interested Candidates are required to register online for the recruitment process. The 3-tier selection process consists of Preliminary and Main Exams which will be conducted online, followed by Interview. SBI PO Eligibility Criteria:


  • Citizen of India
  • Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • As per the govt. rules of India.

Age-Based Eligibility

  • Minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years.
  • There is an age -relaxation of 5years for SC/ST/EXSM.
  • 3years for OBC whereas 10years for PWDs.

Educational Qualification

  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or
  • Any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
  • Fair knowledge of computer is must.

SBI PO Syllabus

There are slight changes in the topics asked in the prelims as well as in the Mains phase of SBI PO Exam. For instance, the preliminary exam in SBI PO consists of Quantitative Aptitude Section, which changes to Data Interpretation and Analysis in Mains and comprises of questions specifically from this topic.

SBI PO Job Profile

  • It is essential to understand what kind of tasks one might have to undertake after getting selected as a probationary officer in SBI.
  • The candidates after selection undergo a probation period of 2 years.

SBI PO Salary

One of the most asked questions among students is the in-hand salary that they would receive as a probationary officer in SBI. The basic grade pay is Rs. 27620/- which is accompanied by 4 increments. Apart from this, the salary component involves other Allowances which is as follows.


SBI PO Basic Pay

Rs.27,620/- (with 4 advance increments)
(in the scale of 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020)

Dearness Allowance

This is revised every quarter and is calculated based on CPI (Consumer Price Index). Currently, DA is 46.9% of the basic pay.

City Compensatory Allowance (CCA)

This varies with the place of posting at 4% or 3%.

Leased House Accommodation

SBI PO may take a house on lease, the amount of which varies with posting between a minimum of. Rs. 8000/- (in rural areas) and a maximum of Rs. 29500/- (in Mumbai).

Furniture Allowance

Rs. 120000/- for the purchase of furniture

Medical Insurance

100% medical coverage for SBI employees and 75% for their family members

Travelling Allowance

For official travels, reimbursement of AC 2-tier fare is provided


50Lts (For 2 wheelers) Or 55Lts (For 4 Wheeler) Or Approx. Rs. 1100-1250 if you don't have 2/4 wheeler (conveyance allowance).

The name of the post available in this recruitment project is SBI Probationary Officers (PO).

2. When will be the exam conducted by SBI?

Every year it is held in the month of July-August and this year also it is expected to be held in the same exam schedule.

3. How many vacancies are expected to be there?

The total number of vacancies may be more than 2000 for Probationary Officers (PO).

4. What will be the selection process of SBI PO 2019?

The selection for Probationary Officers will be done through a three phases:

  • Ist Phase is Preliminary Examination
  • IInd Phase is Mains Examination

The minimum educational qualification required for the post of SBI PO is graduation from any of the reputed University affiliated under the Government of India.

10. Candidate who have scored 55 per cent in graduation can apply for the exam or not?

Yes, as there is no percentage criteria to apply for SBI PO Exam.

11. Is there a criterion for negative marking?

There is negative marking of ¼ marks for every wrong answer.

12. Is there a bond after the selected candidate joins State Bank of India?

The selected candidates, at the time of joining, will have to execute a Bond for a value of Rs 2.00 lac (Two lakhs only) to serve the Bank for a minimum period of three years.


13. Is the SBI PO exam Bilingual?

Except the Descriptive Test for English Language, all the other tests are bilingual, i.e. available in both English and Hindi.
