SSC CGL Exam Analysis:- The most awaited exam of 2019 i.e. SSC CGL 2018-19 Tier 1, is finally here. Tier 1 of SSC CGL 2018 Exam was conducted on 4th of June 2019. The Staff Selection Commission on 25th of January 2019 notified on its official website the Exam Dates for SSC CGL 2018 Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 Exams. And here we are with the detailed section-wise analysis of the Tier 1 Paper. The analysis part will give SSC CGL aspirants a fair idea about the difficulty level of the paper and also understand the type of questions asked. According to many aspirants, the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam was found to be of a moderate level where the quantitative aptitude section was the most time consuming whereas English section was easy

SSC CGL Exam Analysis All Shifts

Exam Analysis of SSC CGL Tier-I 2018-19 Exam Trend till now.

  1. The arrangement of the sections was in following order:- Reasoning – GK –Maths – English
  2. English Section was a bit easy.
  3. Maths section was slightly calculative. Geometry and Mensuration was a bit tougher.
  4. Reasoning section was easy-moderate. Question from the Number system were tougher. Questions being asked from advanced maths.
  5. 5-6 questions were also asked from current affairs.
  6. Cloze test was asked in English Section.
  7. General Awareness was a bit tricky.
  8. Questions from Current Affairs before 2019 were asked.
  9. Overall good attempts for the exam are 69-76 questions.
  10. The questions are not bilingual. Candidates will be required to change the language to view the questions in hindi.
  11. Overall the examination was in the range of Moderate-Difficult.

SSC CGL Exam Analysis date wise is as below:-

 

Day 1 [4th June] Easy-Moderate

Reasoning

This section was easy as usual, but 2-3 questions were quite time consuming.

GA

GA questions were of moderate level. It usually comes up with surprises in SSC CGL tier-1. Current affairs have been a favorite topic since previous years and in 4th June exam too.

Quant

This section was of moderate level. Most of the questions were lengthy. This Section gave a tough time to the candidates with its 5-6 time-consuming questions.

English

This section was easy-moderate. No tough Vocabulary bothered the candidates.

Day 2 [6th June] Easy-Moderate

Reasoning

The questions asked were of easy level and 2-3 questions were little tricky.

GA

GA questions were of moderate level. Straight forward Questions were not asked. 5-6 questions were asked from Current affairs section.

Quant

The quantitative aptitude section was of moderate level. Quantitative Aptitude Section gave a tough fight to the candidates.

English

This section was easy-moderate, and if one has good command over the subject, he/she can score well in this section.

Day 3 [7th June] Easy-Moderate

Reasoning

Most of the questions were doable.

GA

The level of questions was moderate. Questions are covered from the same topics as asked in previous shifts.

Quant

Maths was too lengthy. The number of attempts decreased as compare to previous years.

English

This section was easy-moderate.

How to prepare for the exam on the basis today’s exam:-

  1. English Section is very scoring this time. Start with English Section first and then move on with your strong areas. You could proceed with Reasoning which is also comparatively easy.
  2. Do not start with Quantitative Section first as it may be time-consuming. 
  3. Work on your calculation skills so that you do not spend much time in the quant questions.
  4. Save enough time for Maths. Do not attempt Geometry Questions if you are not confident enough instead attempt simple arithmetic questions first. 
  5. Practice questions from Number series and Alphanumeric series before appearing for the exam. 
  6. We advise you to lay more stress on Art & Culture and Miscellaneous GK as lots of questions appeared in today's exam from this month. 
  7. Go through Basic Grammar rules for English Section. 
  8. Do not lose your confidence if you come across certain tricky questions, instead, 'skip'  such questions.

SSC CGL Shift 1 Exam Analysis (Tier 1) for Quantitative Aptitude

SSC CGL Exam- Quant section was the most difficult and tricky out of all the setions in the exam. This year, thre were more questions based on Arithmetic as compared to other type of questions. There were no formula based direct questions. Highlights of SSC CGL Tier-I 2018-19 Exam

  1. The paper was conducted in Online Mode across different cities.
  2. All the questions were compulsory and were in Objective Type MCQ Format.
  3. Each question was of 2 marks.
  4. All the sections were in English and Hindi Language except English Language and Comprehension section.
  5. There was negative marking of 0.5 Marks for wrong answers.
  6. SSC will decide the minimum qualifying marks of the online exam through normalization method.
  7. It is compulsory to carry Admit Card with affixed Photograph on it and Original ID proof alongwith its photocopy as well.
  8. Candidates were not allowed to leave the examination hall/room before the test was concluded.
